April 8, 2010 – Early registration, reception and campus tours

Keynote Speaker: Alexander C. McCormick, Ph.D., Director of National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), Associate Professor, Indiana University, Bloomington

Keynote Topic: “Student Engagement as a Window on Educational Quality”

Educators are searching for tools that can help them assess and evaluate their students’ achievement of defined learning outcomes in fields as diverse as engineering, business, health professions, math, science and technology (to name a few). These assessments and evaluations are part of a national trend toward transparency and accountability regarding the value added in education. The RosEvaluation Conference 2010, on the campus of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, will bring together those who are developing assessment and evaluation tools to share information and their expertise. The conference will emphasize concrete, effective, and efficient solutions to assessment and evaluation challenges!

ASEE Conference
2010 Engineering Deans Institute (EDI)

Sunday, Apr. 11 to Wednesday, Apr. 14

Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club
St. Petersburg, FL

The annual ASEE Engineering Deans Institute (EDI) provides an opportunity for engineering deans- and only deans- to gather and discuss the crucial issues facing their schools, colleges, and profession. For a few days, a single-stream program fosters dialogue between deans, industry leaders, and those in important roles in research and government. Deans share best practices, learn about career prospects for their graduates, and develop a voice for engineering education and the role of engineering in society. Social activities and plenty of time for conversation encourage the cultivation of relationships and an intensely rewarding experience.

EDI is sponsored by the ASEE Engineering Deans Council and its Executive Board.

2010 Annual ASEE Global Colloquium on Engineering Education

Monday, Oct. 18 to Thursday, Oct. 21

Singapore - Marina Bay Sands Hotel

The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) annual Global Colloquium unites the diverse elements of the international engineering education and corporate world while focusing on issues of interest to the international engineering education community. This year’s Colloquium will be part of the week of the World Engineering Education Forum (WEEF), an initiative conceptualized by ASEE’s international department and IFEES leadership. During the week of 17 October 2010, programs for the ASEE, SPEED, IACEE, IFEES and the GEDC will coincide at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands. Come join us at this rare opportunity to meet and have discussion with stakeholders from all stages of the engineering education pipeline!

The colloquium, held previously in Beijing, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro, Istanbul, Cape Town and Budapest, with the assistance of engineering education organizations from the host country, links engineering educators across international borders and brings together teachers, researchers and corporate colleagues who would otherwise never have an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and viewpoints.
