Session Description
Engineering design never proceeds in a vacuum. We design technology in a rich milieu of overlapping contexts including participation by diverse engineering disciplines and more broadly in historical, philosophical, economic, political, and social frames. Thus engineers of every stripe must be adept not only at working with a diverse design team, but also prepared to understand and empathize with a variety of stakeholders. In this session we explore the broad scope and nature of engineering.
