Assistant Professor

Oakland University's Industrial and Systems Engineering Department has an opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning August 15, 2018. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field, with teaching and research interests human factors engineering, ergonomics, human computer interaction, design of user interface, and safety engineering. Only applicants whose teaching and research match these areas closely will be considered.

Preference will be given to applicants that will complete the Ph.D. by the appointment date. The position will remain open and applications accepted until filled. Candidates must demonstrate experience with, or a commitment to, diversity and inclusion.

Standard teaching load for engineering faculty is 2 courses per semester and a startup package with course release will be offered. Faculty have access to a large local industry base for research and educational projects - including automotive, advanced manufacturing, defense, logistics, energy and healthcare.
