Lecturer Position in the Department of Civil Engineering at the American University of Sharjah

The Department of Civil Engineering (CVE) at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a full-time lecturer position commencing in the fall semester 2017-2018. The applicant is required to have a B.S. and Ph.D. degree in civil engineering or construction management, show evidence of a significant teaching portfolio (breadth of civil courses taught and experience at a North American university are highly desirable), and demonstrate expertise in academic/career advising. The candidate is expected to devote 50-70% effort towards teaching (equivalent to teaching 2 to 3 courses per semester), 20-30% for advising of all civil engineering undergraduate majors, and 10-20% for other services, to include student recruitment and engagement activities. The greatest teaching need at present is in construction management.
