Miami University (ET)-Faculty Tenure-Track

Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering: two tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor positions in the general areas of manufacturing and materials science beginning fall 2018. Responsibilities include teaching and advising undergraduate and master’s level students, active engagement in research, and service to the university.

Require: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely-related field by date of appointment. ABDs may apply, but the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment.

To be appointed to the rank of associate professor, the successful candidate will have an established record of high quality teaching and research, with scholarly publications and grants in materials science and manufacturing areas.

Consideration will be given to those whose expertise includes manufacturing or materials science based research focusing on product design, advanced manufacturing technologies, experimental and computational facets of biomaterials, and metallic/non-metallic materials for new mechanical/energy/electrical applications. Those with teaching experience, industrial or post-doctoral appointments and a record of grant funding and scholarly publications will be considered.
