Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering

The Civil Engineering Program at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor in environmental engineering beginning in the fall semester of 2017 (starting in August 2017), with ongoing teaching assignments two terms each year. Successful candidates will have the ability to teach in environmental engineering and to additionally teach in one or more of the areas of civil engineering. Preference will be given to candidates who have the ability to teach across a broad range of civil engineering courses, possess other specialties in civil engineering, and/or who have industrial work experience. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the potential for: outstanding teaching/advising, ongoing college service, and professional development; developing undergraduate teaching laboratories; and working with industry and undergraduate students in applied research. Graduates of the ASCE ExCEEd Teaching Workshop are especially encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field, and should have a record of successful undergraduate teaching. Registration as a professional engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain a license as a professional engineer is highly desired.
