The College of Engineering at North Dakota State University (NDSU) is looking for dynamic individuals seeking to impact their profession and ask those individuals to apply for the position of Chair of the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) at NDSU.
NDSU is the state’s 1864 land-grant institution, and one of the nation’s top 108 public and private universities in the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education’s elite category of “Research Universities/Very High Research Activity.” The IME department has 8 faculty and a growing population of students currently sitting at approximately 200 undergraduates and 20 graduate students. The department offers the following degrees: BS in Industrial Engineering and Management, BS in Manufacturing Engineering, both degrees accredited by ABET, MS in Industrial Engineering and Management, MS in Manufacturing Engineering and PhD in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.
The successful candidate will demonstrate transformational leadership of the IME department towards fulfilling its land-grant mission of teaching, research and outreach. The selected individual will be responsible for guiding strategic planning efforts, mentoring and evaluating faculty and staff, managing the department’s budget and representing the department’s interest to the college and university. This dynamic leader will work closely with the IME Industrial Advisory Board to accomplish outreach and cultivate relationships with IME stakeholders in the region and beyond.
