Dr. Aliye Karabulut-Ilgu is a lecturer in the department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at Iowa State University. Her background is in Curriculum and Instruction, and her research interests include online learning, hybrid learning, and technology integration in higher education.
Suhan Yao is a graduating master student in the Curriculum and Instructional Technology program at Iowa State University. She works as an instructional designer (graduate assistant) on campus. Her research interests include online learning, curriculum design, and instructional technology.
Dr. Yelda Turkan is an assistant professor of Construction Engineering and Management in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University. She holds a doctoral degree in civil engineering with emphasis in construction engineering and management from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Prior to joining academia, she worked in the construction industry for two years as a highway design project engineer. Dr. Turkan teaches construction contracts and virtual design and construction courses at undergraduate and graduate level. In 2015, she was awarded with ASCE ExCEEd Fellowship for completing the ExCEEd teaching workshop organized and supported by ASCE. In her research, Dr. Turkan investigates how LiDAR and virtual design and construction (VDC) technologies can help improve project controls and project performance metrics. Her research interests and experience are centered on the areas of remote sensing, computer vision, image processing and machine learning applications for construction engineering and management, infrastructure asset management, and transportation.
