Teaching lab courses online is hard, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This session demonstrates two courses that leverage low-cost hardware platforms to deliver quality lab experiences in person or remotely. The first course, based on ST’s lab-in-a-box kits (such as STM32 discovery kits, $25), focuses on register-level C and assembly programming. The second course, based on ST’s mini-drone kits ($50), covers advanced C programming for sensors and drone operations. A complete suite of video tutorials, lecture slides and lab exercises with solutions are provided for educators to get a quick start to renovate the curriculum and enable distance education.
