Open-Rank Professor of Engineering (Tenure Track)

The Department of Physics and Engineering in the J. D. Patterson School of Natural Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Engineering. Position to begin August 2024, but a January 2024 start date could be discussed. The successful candidate will display evidence of successful classroom teaching, scholarship and/or qualified professional experience; a collegial commitment to professional, university, departmental, and community service; and a Christian commitment consistent with biblical standards and the University’s vision, mission, and values as a liberal arts institution. Primary responsibilities will include teaching a wide range of general engineering, engineering mechanics, and mechanical engineering courses as part of a new engineering program seeking ABET accreditation. Additional opportunities exist for on and off campus engagements, such as research or professional development. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications. All qualified candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to those who have a PhD in mechanical engineering or a Professional Engineering license and experience in the field.
