ABET

ABETâ„¢ is the global accreditor of approximately 3,600 technical programs at over 700 colleges and universities in 29 countries.

Through the efforts of more than 2,200 Experts from professional and technical societies like ASEE, we accredit programs in the disciplines of applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. Our standards and the quality we guarantee inspire confidence in those who aim to build a better world — one that is safer, more efficient, comfortable and sustainable.

Developed by technical professionals from ABET's member societies, including ASEE, our criteria focus on what students experience and learn. Sought worldwide, ABET's voluntary peer-review process is highly respected because it adds critical value to academic programs in the technical disciplines, where quality, precision, and safety are of the utmost importance.

Through our partnership with ASEE, we aim to engage ASEE members in the accreditation process and communicate all things related to ABET. Together with ASEE, ABET is committed to promoting excellence in engineering and engineering technology education.

ASEE Partnership:

ABET partners with ASEE, one of our founding member societies, to provide leadership opportunities to its membership. That begins with encouraging ASEE members to become program evaluators, joining the network of Experts who carry out our accreditation activities around the world. With the talent and expertise of our Experts, students, employers, and the society we serve can be confident that a program meets the quality standards that produce graduates prepared to enter a global workforce.

Because of our shared commitment and goals, ASEE's 12,000 members are a prime channel for communicating the work we do.
