This tour is open to all deans who register for EDI 2018 and who preregister - see below. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are 30 seats available.

We will visit the Lake Bourgne Surge Barrier and one of the Pump Stations. These are components of the Hurrican and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System (HSDRRS) that was put in place after Katrina to protect the city of New Orleans and surrounding communities.  It includes: levees, surge barriers and pump stations.

Note: (US Army Corps of Engineers requirement)
Visitors must be U.S. citizens in order to access the site.
Please bring ID with you if you plan to participate in Flood Protection Tour.
