Angelo J. Perna
New Jersey Institute of Technology
Greetings and salutations fellow members of the ASEE Academy of Fellows and may I start out by introducing the officers of the Academy. My name is Angelo J. Perna, commonly called Angie, and I am Chair of the Academy for the term 2000- 2002 AD and currently I am Associate Dean of Newark College of Engineering of the New Jersey Institute of Technology. While I may have had to introduce myself to you the Vice Chair/Secretary needs no introduction since it is Lyle D. Feisel, a past president of ASEE, Dean of the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science at SUNY Binghamton.
Recently Lyle and I crossed paths in Albuquerque while he was attending an IEEE meeting and I was at the ACHS meeting held at the Hyatt Regency. Both of us can attest to the excellent accommodations and the hospitality of the hotel staff and residents of the town. Having had this preview of the sights and sounds of Albuquerque it simplifies my encouraging you to attend the Annual ASEE Meeting to be held there from June 24th to the 29th. While we do not have any sessions scheduled we are holding our Annual Academy of Fellows Breakfast Meeting (session 3152: $15) on Wednesday morning. This is our opportunity to greet the newly elected Fellows, hear Wally, Jerry and Frank update us on the goings and comings of ASEE and most importantly renew and revel in our many friendships. I find this event as one that renews the vigor with which I approach ASEE activities and one that gladdens my heart in being around so many friends. I truly look forward to seeing you at the breakfast and hope you will attend.
