July 7-10, 2008 - Davos, Switzerland
Building on the successes and lessons learned from the pilot International
Conference on Research in Engineering Education held in Hawaii in June
2007, we are pleased to announce the launch of the Research in Engineering
Education Symposium (REES) to be held July 7-10, 2008 in beautiful Davos,
Switzerland. An international planning committee is hard at work finalizing
the details for submitting and reviewing papers/works in progress. The
logistics for the meeting are being handled through ECI, a group which
handles many international engineering meetings each year. Further, we
believe that generous sponsorship will hold the conference costs (excluding
transportation costs) to a minimum for those whose papers/works in progress
are accepted. Details will follow by December 1, 2007.

Journal of SMET Education: Innovations and
Research
Journal
of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math
Education: Authors are invited to submit case
studies and research articles for publication
in the Journal of STEM Education: Innovations
and Research. The Journal promotes high-quality
undergraduate education in science, technology,
engineering, and math (STEM) through peer reviewed
real-world case studies and articles on educational
research, assessment studies, policy issues,
accomplishments by funding agencies, and industry
needs. Articles and case studies are expected
to be used by faculty members in universities,
four-year colleges, two-year colleges and high
schools. These materials are expected to develop
student thinking and problem solving, integrate
real world issues with theories in STEM, respond
to employer needs and expectations, and use
educational research and student assessment
to inform innovations in education.
