The Mechanical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position for Fall 2018. Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with research interest in the field of Advanced Manufacturing. The successful candidate will teach existing undergraduate- and graduate-level courses and develop new ones in the areas of machine design and manufacturing processes. The successful candidate is expected to establish an externally funded research program, be committed to scholarly activity, and be engaged in service to the profession and the university. The successful candidate is also expected to collaborate with existing faculty members within the department and across campus including those within the Center of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing and the SimCenter: Center of Excellence in Applied Computational Science and Engineering. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate their teaching competency and to articulate their plan to develop and sustain an externally funded research program. Applications must include a cover letter, a teaching statement, a research statement, and a curriculum vitae. These documents should be submitted electronically.
