We have heard your feedback and know how much you value ASEE listservs as a communication platform and we will keep them accordingly. Please note that, going forward, any updates to membership on a listserv will take up to a week to process because we are now using a different member database platform not directly tied to the listservs database.
Thank you for your patience as we continue evolving to better serve valuable members like you.
Great news- ASEE members can now use their ASEE.org credentials to log into the ASEE Hub! (Separate ASEE Hub credentials will no longer be used.)
This means:
Join your colleagues on the ASEE Hub to network, share research, and learn about professional development opportunities in one place: https://aseehub.asee.org/home
User Interviews are an integral part of creating better User Experiences. ASEE invites you to meet with ASEE's User Experience specialist, Jason Tremblay, for a one-on-one interview at the Annual Conference! Your responses and feedback will contribute to making ASEE's website and other digital platforms more efficient and user-friendly. Interviews are about 15-minutes and can be scheduled per your availability.

PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Due to the transition to a new system, session submissions had been extended into April. We are currently confirming and finalizing details for sessions and should have those available to attendees by Tuesday, May 17.
We recognize that session details are important to attendees for making travel plans, etc. and we appreciate your patience.
This month, ASEE members will be able to use their ASEE.org credentials to log into the ASEE Hub. (Separate ASEE Hub credentials will no longer be used.)
Once finalized, this will mean:
Note:
Are you still planning to register for the Annual Conference?
If you have not yet registered for the 2022 Annual Conference but still plan to, we would like to meet with you. Our web development team is looking for 5 to 10 ASEE member volunteers to meet with via video call to get your feedback about the registration process and participate in a brief interview with our User Experience staff. If you are interested in scheduling a time to walk through the registration process with an ASEE staff member, please fill out this 3-question survey and we will contact you.
Please help make the ASEE website search function more intuitive for you, our valued members. We invite you to contribute to the development process by participating in a Card Sorting study. The activity takes 15-20 minutes to complete and will help to establish trends and common terminology for our vast content.
So far, we have had 42 participants in the Card Sort study, 21 of which completed 100% of the activity. We need at least 30 participants to complete 100% of the activity to get meaningful results. Help us get to 30! Participate in the study.
The ASEE Technology, Conferences and Art teams partnered to seamlessly launch Annual Conference registration on April 7th.
The ASEE Classified Jobs web page has been enhanced based on user feedback. Improvements include repositioning filter controls, simplifying navigation, and fixing minor glitches.

The ASEE Technology and Conferences teams are partnering to ensure all setups are completed and tested in Impexium and on the website before we open registration on April 4th for the Annual Conference (June 26-29, Minneapolis, Minnesota).
The Technology team is in process of creating a single sign-on for the website and ASEE Hub and expects implementation in early April.
You may not have noticed, but our team has made dozens of small improvements to the user interface on ASEE.org in recent weeks. Do you feel like we have missed something? A glitch? A button that doesn’t work? Something missing or out of place? Feel free to leave feedback via the feedback tab on any page on ASEE.org.
ASEE’s design and development teams are working hard to finalize faceted search for ASEE.org and select affiliated sites. This feature will allow users to search for content on PEER, ASEE Hub, Division sites, Section Sites and more, and will allow users to filter results on ASEE.org by categories and content tags.

As ASEE continues to improve your membership experience, we would like to share our latest technology updates with you.
In preparation for the conference, we have successfully added 320 technical sessions to the Slayte System conference module and are working to add the 235 non-technical session requests that have been accepted. This will allow you to preview sessions being offered at the annual conference before you register. The Slayte System is also being used for conference award nominations (between November and February of any given Society year). Additionally, we are rolling out “how-to” guidelines to assist conference-paper reviewers.
Division awards are now published on the Awards Page.
Both new and renewing ASEE individual memberships can now be processed via the Impexium system that manages our website, www.asee.org.
For your convenience, we added web-page functionality that displays expandable categories and printable PDFs on the Divisions page.
The e-Fellows mentoring program is now available on the ASEE Hub

The ASEE Headquarters team is working hard to improve your experience as we continue transitioning this year to our new website and digital platforms. In our first technology update with you, we shared the challenge of shifting away from Monolith, our old and antiquated homegrown Association Management Software, to three separate systems offering more flexibility, services, options and convenience. We promised to keep you appraised of our progress as we strive to improve the value of your ASEE membership.
Since our previous message, here are two technology updates we would like to share with you:
1) ASEE committee directories are now available online: www.asee.org/about-us/who-we-are/leadership/committees
2) People looking to join ASEE for the first time can create new accounts and purchase ‘Individual’ memberships at www.asee.org/membership-and-communities/membership
Note:
We appreciate your patience and partnership as ASEE modernizes its technology platforms to better serve you. Thank you for being a part of the ASEE community!
With approval from the ASEE Board of Directors, this year we began phasing out Monolith, our old and homegrown Association Management Software (AMS) which served as a combined abstract/paper management system, web application system, and website. Monolith is based in obsolete code, poorly documented, and cannot communicate with or integrate with commercial systems. Nonetheless, we were able to customize it to our exact needs. So, it’s like a ratty old sweater (or favorite chair, etc), it needed to be replaced, but anything new is not going to immediately fit as comfortably, even if it serves us better in the long run.
We are replacing Monolith with three separate systems:
Unfortunately, this transition has not gone as smoothly as we had hoped. And we apologize for the “growing pains” and disruptions you are experiencing. We have asked you to shift from a singular and highly customized system to three new systems, and in some cases, we have asked you to switch "back-and-forth" between new and old systems for functionality that has not fully crossed over. We recognize that this is confusing and ask for your continued patience and understanding.
Please know that your ASEE Headquarters team is working diligently to fix these issues and make our technology fully functional as soon as possible within the coming months. Moreover, we will assiduously continue to keep you appraised of our progress as we strive to maintain the value of your membership in ASEE.
We are confident that this technological horizon is worth crossing because our new digital platforms will ultimately offer more flexibility, services, options and convenience. For example, our new member engagement and collaboration platform (“ASEE HUB” - https://aseehub.asee.org/home) already hosts a digital "hub" where members can dynamically share ideas, best practices, questions, documentation, and event information. The ASEE HUB centralizes member communication and will replace our division, geographic council, and institutional council listservs that are set to retire in December 2022. In the coming months, an integration between the new ASEE website and ASEE HUB will allow ASEE members to seamlessly access ASEE HUB content with a single sign-on.
We have developed a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) document of the top 5 most received questions. See below.
We are also collecting feedback from our members to help identify ways we can improve our digital experience. Please click here to participate in a brief questionnaire. Members have the option to include their email address at the end of the questionnaire to take part in additional studies that will further benefit user experiences.
Thank you for your patience as we continuously evolve to better serve you. We are grateful for your partnership. Happy holidays!
Sincerely,
Frequently Asked Questions: ASEE’s New Digital Platforms
New AMS system (Impexium)
New Abstract/Paper management system (Slayte)
Question 1: How many ASEE logins do I have?
Answer 1: While ASEE is working to transition all member information from the old Association Management Software, AMS (Monolith), and old website (https://monolith.asee.org), to the new AMS (Impexium) and new website (https://www.asee.org ), each member will need two sets of login credentials.
Note 1: Login credentials for the old website have not changed.
Note 2: Login credentials for the new website:
User id: Your email address (Same as the one you use for the old website)
Password: Whatever you have set up while activating your account on the new website. If you have not yet activated your account on the new website, please click on the reset password link and follow the prompts to reset the password and activate your account.
Question 2: How (and where) do I renew my ASEE membership OR pay for conference/event registration that I processed on the old website but have not yet paid for?
Answer 2: Click here.
Note: If you need assistance, please contact the ASEE Member services department at membership@asee.org.
Question 3: How (and where) can I access the new Abstract/Paper Management System (Slayte)?
Answer 3: Please login here: https://www.asee.org and click on the “EVENTS” menu option at the top of the home page; then click on the link that reads “2022 Slayte Paper Management System” on the left-hand side of the webpage.
Note 1: If you click on the menu option that reads “2022 Slayte Paper Management System,” WITHOUT logging in upfront, you will be prompted to login. You will need to enter the same login credentials as you would to log in to the new website.
Note 2: If you do NOT have an account with ASEE, then click on “Create an account” at the bottom of the login screen to create your account; then log in to Slayte using those credentials or contact conferences@asee.org for assistance.
Question 4: How (and where) do I login to the ASEE HUB (https://aseehub.asee.org/home )
Answer 4: Please use your ASEE HUB login; or contact membership@asee.org for assistance.
Note 1: At this time, for your first time logging into ASEE HUB, you will need to establish new credentials separate from your ASEE website credentials by clicking the black “Register” button after clicking the orange “Login” button.
Note 2: We are in the process of integrating Single Sign-On for ASEE’s new website and the HUB. We will inform all members when the feature is implemented in upcoming months.
Question 5: If I already had a logon for ASEE’s old website, do I need to create a new account and login credentials for the new website?
Answer 5: No.
Note: However, if you are trying to log in to ASEE’s new website for the first time, you will need to activate your login credentials by clicking on “Login” and then clicking on the “Forgot password?” link at the bottom of the screen to reset your password; then you can use the credentials to log in to the new website.
