Position Summary


The Engineering Education Transformations Institute (EETI) in the College of Engineering at University of Georgia invites applications for two open-rank, 9-month, tenure-track faculty positions to start August 1, 2024.

We are seeking innovative scholars in engineering education who will help expand EETI and contribute to our mission of creating community and capacity around engineering education scholarship and practice at UGA and beyond.

The successful candidates will become core faculty members within EETI, holding the title of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Engineering Education. In addition, they will be an active member of one of the four Schools in the College of Engineering: the School of Chemical, Materials, and Biomedical EngineeringSchool of Electrical and Computer EngineeringSchool of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural, and Mechanical Engineering; and School of Computing. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in one of the four Schools as well as graduate courses in the Engineering Education and Transformative Practice program housed in EETI.

The UGA College of Engineering currently enrolls over 2,700 engineering majors and has over 95 full-time engineering faculty across 15 degrees and 3 Schools.

Minimum Qualifications

All candidates must have a Ph.D. in engineering education, STEM education, engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must also have a documented research background appropriate for the appointment rank.

To be eligible for tenure upon appointment, candidates must be appointed as an associate or full professor, have been tenured at a prior institution, and bring a demonstrable national reputation to the institution. Candidates must be approved for tenure upon appointment before hire.

Relevant/Preferred Qualifications

Commensurate with the rank sought, highly successful candidates will demonstrate a past record of or potential to:

  • Establish a world-class funded research program that graduates doctoral students, produces peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings papers, and supports continued growth of the Institute through grants and other scholarly activities.
  • Build EETI’s graduate program and effectively mentor a wide range of graduate students.
  • Collaborate with scholars, instructional faculty, and staff within EETI, within the college, within the university, and across the global engineering education research community.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one of the four Schools within the College of Engineering and/or EETI.
  • Develop undergraduate and graduate courses and curricula.
  • Provide leadership for various service areas including EETI, School, and College-level committees.
  • Represent EETI to the global engineering education community.
