University of Kentucky – Lecturer in First-Year Engineering Program

The Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a non-tenure-track Lecturer faculty position with teaching duties focused primarily on first-year engineering education. The appointment is on a nine-month (academic year) basis, and is long-term renewable. The anticipated start date is Fall 2024.

The First-Year Engineering (FYE) program is responsible for the delivery of a dynamic, three-course sequence encompassing student professional development in the engineering discipline, fundamentals of computer programming and hands-on engineering design. Duties include teaching 10-12 classroom contact hours per week in a team setting with multiple sections of lecture and laboratory courses offered each semester.

Applicants should hold at least a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) with one or more degrees (BS, MS or Ph.D.) in engineering or computer science. Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills, a teamwork orientation, and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate engineering education through active learning, hands-on activities and engineering design projects.
