Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering Teaching Faculty Position

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities invites applications for the position of Teaching Faculty. The position is full-time renewable term (non-tenure track) and applicants at all ranks will be considered. The starting date is flexible.

The successful candidate will play a significant teaching and leadership role in our undergraduate and graduate programs. The ability to effectively teach a wide variety of classes related to industrial engineering at both the graduate and undergraduate levels to a diverse group of students is required. The department has teaching needs in several areas, including (but not limited to) Project Management, Systems Engineering, and Human Factors.

This is primarily a teaching position; all candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching. The position will require the majority of effort to be spent on teaching and teaching- related duties, with reduced obligation for research and university service.

While this is primarily a teaching position and all candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching, the successful candidate will also be expected to contribute in other ways to the department. Other areas of responsibility may include (but are not limited to):

● Academic advising of ISyE students in the undergraduate and MS-Systems Engineering programs.

● Involvement in the coordination of senior design projects and MS capstones.

● Participation in (and possibly leadership of) efforts to expand the department's collaboration with industry and community outreach.

● Development of opportunities for lifelong learning for alumni and members of local industry.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Engineering, Business, or another relevant discipline. Applicants with experience in both industry and academia are especially encouraged to apply. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as the ability to work with a diverse faculty and student body. Appointment rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
