Reviewer Guidelines

  1. Reviewers are selected by the ASEE Annual Conference Program Chairs for their specific division through our Paper Submission System
  2. You will get an email request from the program Chair
    1. Reviewers have the option to accept or decline this request
    2. Please note: No reviews will be assigned until the request has been accepted
  3. Reviews are all done anonymously, with no individual indicators in the abstracts and/or papers
    1. Abstracts require one (1) anonymous review
    2. Papers require three (3) anonymous reviews
  4. Abstract Reviews:
    1. You can rank the abstract and make a recommendation to the Program Chair to accept or reject the abstract
  5. Paper Reviews:
    You can rank the paper and make a recommendation to the Program Chair to
    1. Accept the paper as is
    2. Request Revisions
    3. Reject the paper
  6. Be Advised: If revisions are requested, the reviewer will be required to re-review the paper to confirm revisions were completed
  7. Once a revision is confirmed, you can send the accept or reject recommendations to the program chair
  8. If you indicate that the paper should be considered for “Best Paper” you will be prompted to complete the Best Paper Rubric (see below for a sample).
  9. Deadlines and timeframes:
    1. Deadlines and timeframes are very important, please be sure to stay on schedule with reviews
    2. Each review phase has a specific deadline
    3. Deadlines can be found here.

1. Open your email and select the Accept or Decline hyperlink

3. Scroll down to select ACCEPT or DECLINE

5. Go to your email account and select Activate Account

2. Click on the provided logo

3. Enter in your email address and password that you use to sign in with Impexium then select Login

2. Type in your email address then select NEXT

4. You will be redirected to the Home screen

1. From the Home screen select Reviews from the left pane or tile

2. Navigate to the Waiting for review (#) section [please note, the number will automatically change as submissions are assigned to the reviewer] then select the desired call. If there are multiple submissions within the call it will be presented to the reviewer.

3. Once in the submission the reviewer will have two options REVIEW NOW or RECUSE YOURSELF

4. If selected REVIEW NOW, the reviewer is presented with the completed submission and the review criteria

5. Once review has been completed select SUBMIT REVIEW

**Please note, your reviews are only shown to the administrator(s).

 

1. Below the About section locate the Review Availability section

2. Select Phase availability either by selecting plus/minus (-/+) or manually type numeric option in field

3. Select SAVE MY AVAILABILITY

4. Your entry will be saved

*Please note, if you have not been given the option to set your review availability this was not configured by your system administrator. 

 

1. From the Home screen select Reviews

2. The drop down menu will expand, you will be able to select by revision entry

3. Select VIEW to modify the review you can switch between a previous revision submitted and the most recent version and update rating based on changes in the most recent revision

4. Select EDIT

5. Make modifications, as necessary then select SUBMIT to save

6. Congratulations the modified review is completed

2. Select UNSUBSCRIBE FROM REVISION NOTIFICATION
