The School of Engineering, housed in the College of Applied and Social Sciences at the University of Mount Union invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor rank to begin January 3, 2023. We seek an educator-scholar with emphasis in computer engineering. The School of Engineering currently offers ABET-accredited programs in civil and mechanical engineering. Newly created programs in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, and electrical engineering will seek ABET accreditation after graduating their first classes.


Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate engineering education in a liberal arts setting. Primary responsibilities include teaching engineering curriculum, further developing the computer engineering curriculum, and participating in the ABET accreditation process. Willingness and flexibility to teach computer and electrical engineering lectures and labs, and a variety of engineering courses including general education courses is desired. Additional responsibilities include advising computer and electrical engineering students, industrial outreach leading to student internship and employment opportunities, engaging in professional development and scholarly activities, and participation in university service. Individuals with previous industrial experience and online teaching experience are highly desirable. The School is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity in higher education through their teaching, research, and service.
